In short
- The site works without any optional cookies. Google Analytics is off until you accept it. No analytics data is sent to Google before that.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice at any time.
- We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Google signals and advertising personalization are turned off.
- A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as a refusal.
- Launch and lesson videos load a privacy-enhanced YouTube player only when you choose to watch a video. No YouTube player is loaded before that click. Playing a video connects your browser to Google under YouTube's privacy terms; this choice is separate from analytics consent.

Fonts, images and installation videos are served from this site. Launch and lesson videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player after you choose to watch; links can also open YouTube directly under its own privacy terms. Links to GitHub, PyPI and Apple open those services under their own privacy terms. To show the current release, the download page asks GitHub's public API for release information directly from your browser.
What we collect and why
Hosting and security
Cloudflare delivers the site. To do so it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and uses the __cf_bm cookie against bots. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).
Analytics, only with your consent
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, how far you scroll, and which site actions you use: downloads you start, labs and video links you open, installation videos you play and interactive demos. It also receives device, browser and approximate location information. It does not receive the content you copy, what you type or any file you download. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use the results to see which pages and materials help people. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy rules; explicit consent under KVKK Art. 5(1)). Google keeps this event data for no longer than 14 months.
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we use your address and message to answer you, and keep them for as long as needed for that request and our legal obligations.
Who receives data
Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and security), Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (Analytics after consent, and YouTube when you choose to watch a video), and GitHub, Inc. (release information on the download page). These providers may process data outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on the safeguards it provides, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Your choices and rights
Use to customize your choices at any time. Necessary storage is always active; the Statistics switch controls optional analytics. Press Save choices to apply your selection, or Accept all or Reject all for the optional cookies. Withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies this site can reach and stops Google Analytics from loading.
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable form. Under KVKK Article 11 you can also learn whether your data are processed, why, and to whom they are transferred, and ask for the consequences of unlawful processing to be remedied. Send requests to support@openeconometrics.com. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or the authority in your EU or EEA country.
United States residents
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. With your consent, we collect online identifiers (cookie IDs), internet activity on this site and approximate location for analytics. You can ask to know, correct or delete this information, and to opt out, by using cookie settings or writing to us. We honor Global Privacy Control signals and will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
The site is meant for students, teachers and researchers. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change how we use cookies or data, we will update this page and its date. If the change needs new consent, we will ask again.
